Video of Donald Shek's recent commission by Chinese Arts Now as part of the CAN Festival 2019.

Augmented Chinatown maps the streets of the current Chinatown from Rupert St. to Charing Cross Rd. The tour was led by artist Donald Shek, combining video installation and digital sculptures with insights into the past and future of Chinatown. Donald shared the layered histories of the area, the Chinese community, and the Chinese diaspora, exploring the themes of identity, cultural symbolism, and myth. The tour takes audience members through each of the digital installations from the early beginnings of the creation myth in Chinese mythology to the present day.
